Evaluating Afterschool

Recently, Dallas Afterschool was featured on Afterschool Alliance's Afterschool Snack with a blog post about engaging in evaluation. Ours is the first in a series of evaluation-focused blog posts to come. THANK YOU to all of our partners that contribute data and time to our ongoing evaluation; we couldn't do it without your help!

 After the Bell Alliance
The After the Bell Alliance is a community collaborative led by Dallas Afterschool. Our goal is to double the number of free and low-cost seats available in Dallas out-of-school time programs. We are launching our first set of task forces this fall, and we would love to have you as a part of our team! If you are interested in any of the opportunities below, please contact the After the Bell Alliance Project Manager, Shareea Woods
  • Out of School Time Message Refinement will look at data, research, and existing OST promotional materials to determine the key points the OST community should collectively emphasize when explaining the importance of OST programs. This task force will also make recommendations about how we can encourage our partners to adopt the collective message as their own.
  • Community Focus Group Support will provide feedback on the questions the After Bell Alliance will use in our community focus groups. We will also look to this task force for help setting up focus groups in different communities across Dallas.
  • Relationship Building for Advocacy will decide on a strategy for approaching elected officials and thought leaders with our message about the unique opportunity we have to use OST programs provide to help reduce achievement gaps, provide enriching experiences, combat food insecurity, and provide social emotional support.
Please let us know if you are interested in joining one of the After the Bell Alliance Task Forces. We would love to have you on our team!
