On May 1, over 300 students joined Interfraternity Council Vice President Nate Houghton and Change for Change Chapter President Jordan Whitlock (both shown below) to present $2,000 to SPCS as part of the Greek Tri-Council’s Day of Demeter, an annual community service day.

NateJordan.jpgThe funds, which were raised in Greek houses and at chapter meetings, will be used by the SPCS to staff the Crisisline with nighttime counselors, ensuring 24-hour availability of this important service.

Suicide prevention is a critical issue at Cornell, where six students have taken their lives this academic year.

Dana Hork, Founder and CEO of Change for Change, was the Keynote Speaker for the Day of Demeter kickoff event.
