TDL Director joins DPN working group

Digital Preservation Network logoTDL executive director Debra Hanken Kurtz has joined the DPN Business Model Working Group, which has been tasked with creating a formal business plan and establishing a sustainable economic model for the Digital Preservation Network (DPN).
The Texas Digital Library is a charter member of DPN, a nationwide effort among academic institutions to develop a geographically distributed, format-independent infrastructure to ensure the preservation of the scholarly record.

New director begins Texas tour

TDL director Debra Hanken Kurtz began a tour of TDL member campuses on June 18 at Texas A&M University Libraries and will be traveling around the state for site visits throughout the summer and fall. The next scheduled visits will be:

  • University of Houston Libraries on August 6

  • Texas State University Libraries on September 4

  • Texas Tech University on September 25

Additional visits will be scheduled so that TDL staff will visit every TDL member library by the end of 2013.

Along with member site visits, Kurtz and the TDL staff will be holding a series of regional recruitment meetings to talk to library directors and deans about membership in the Texas Digital Library, starting with a meeting in San Marcos on September 5. Stay tuned for more details about these meetings.

For more information about TDL's travels around the state, periodically check  the TDL home page for presentations and other information associated with these events.

Two new TDL-hosted academic journals launched their first issues this summer: the Journal of Analytic Theology and the Texas State Undergraduate Review.

The Journal of Analytic Theology, which came to the TDL through Baylor University Libraries, publishes articles, book reviews, and book symposia that explore theological and meta-theological topics in a manner that prizes terminological clarity and argumentative rigor.

The Texas State Undergraduate Research Journal is an online, peer-reviewed journal devoted to multi-disciplinary undergraduate research at Texas State University.

For more information about these and other journals hosted by the Texas Digital Library, visit the TDL Electronic Press.
