“From the beginning,
the Creator ‘made them male and female’” (Mt. 19:4).
by Dr. Mark Ginter
Head Coordinating Servant

How fast can a civilization destroy itself? As fast as it can redefine marriage and the family. In actuality, the modern redefinition of marriage has been developing for the past 100 years. One of the first goals of the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia in 1917 was to replace marriage and the family with the government. It has been so successful that the present Russian Government is trying to reverse this destructive trajectory before the country no longer has any people. The average Russian woman has 7 abortions in her life, and most boys do not know their fathers. Yet, the rest of the world seems to be diving head-long into the shallow end of the pool with the embrace of all things homosexual through the forced redefinition of marriage as anything but one man to one woman.
Young_Couple1    Christ Jesus himself confronted a widespread confusion about marriage, family, and children when he answered the Pharisees’s question about divorce. He starts teaching this way: “...[F]rom the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female’ (Gen. 1:27). ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh’ (Gen. 2:24). So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, no human being must separate” (Mt. 19:4-6).
He continues to teach his disciples about the great dignity of marriage and children which he contrasts to the greater sacrifice of celibacy for the sake of the Kingdom of Heaven. As a result, he raises the natural marital union between one man and one woman to the sanctified union of a baptized brother to a baptized sister through the sacrament of Holy Matrimony and, simultaneously, confirms the vocation of priestly celibacy and consecrated virginity as a superior witness to love. Christ, through His Church, never defines marriage differently than a total, fully human, faithful, exclusive unto death, and fruitful union between one man and one woman.
Even if the whole world groans to be gay, as St. Jerome might observe today, we Catholics must not disown Christ and his teaching in the presence of others. Rather, we must rely on the Holy Spirit to speak now (see Lk. 12:8-12).  God’s PEACE!

St. Mary’s, Sullivan, IN Confirmation Retreat
Walking across the Front Lawn
Eager for a deeper Life in the Spirit, ten Confirmation Candidates, their sponsors, and adult catechists, twenty-four persons in all, made a pilgrimage to God’s Country on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013.
They were warmly received at the 10:30 a.m. Eucharistic Liturgy at Holy Family Parish in Jasper, IN. From there, they traveled to God’s Country for the afternoon retreat. Although Sullivan is over 100 miles from God’s Country, these Catholics were blessed beyond their imagining.

Testimony: ...To the foot of the Cross
...to fulfill the deepest desire of your heart...

Vince and Vicki Granacher

We recently had the pleasure of visiting God’s Country for the Fourth Friday Free Family Flicks For Fun.  The movie that evening was about St. Vincent de Paul.  Before the movie, we had the opportunity to pray the rosary along the Sorrowful Mystery Trail.  As we went along, stopping at each meditation point, I could feel the presence of our Lord as we meditated on His passion and crucifixion.  When prayed this contemplatively, the Holy Spirit can truly come and rest in our hearts.  Such is the feeling I get every time I visit God’s Country.

Vince and Vicki Granacher

Visiting God’s Country has brought immeasurable solace to me. As one who came to the faith late in life and with a history of an abortion 36 years ago, I have felt compelled to participate in the reparation work days. Most often I end up pulling weeds at the Gardener’s Hut -- such appropriate symbolism for the remediation of our sins and bad habits. When I am there, I am able to unburden myself of the feelings of intense remorse and loss that I sometimes can not suppress. So I come here — transported as it were — to the foot of the cross — to conjoin this pain to His and to receive the Divine Mercy He offers.
“God’s Country - America’s most blessed 32 acres”: is not a slogan but a promise for anyone open and searching for divine love, hope and healing. In this pristine and primitive environment, it is possible to experience the embrace of One who will give us all that we need, all that we ever hope for – and proved it — by sending His Son to die for us. Away from all the distractions of the world, this sacred place draws us nearer to Christ who never stops saying, “Come, come to me. I will fulfill the deepest desire of your heart. Trust in Me.”

~Vicki

My wife and I have been to God’s Country both together and separately on a number of occasions. The Ginter Family and the Haas Family are remarkable people. Their love of God, nature and total commitment to sharing these gifts and their own gifts of the Spirit is palpable and real. So we invite all to witness and to know the pure joy “to learn, to pray, to work, to play.”
~Vince

Your Needs Placed Before God's Mercy

DivineMercyWindow1 copy 2We invite you to send us your prayer requests. A binder rests below the only publicly available Divine Mercy stained glass window in the US in the Gardener’s House.  God’s Country is America’s most blessed 32 acres. God answers prayers here. We want the whole world to know it and to receive the blessings from a visit.

We need $75,000 to replace the drafty, uninsulated Pole Barn with an insulated building that includes heated and air-conditioned conference room, office, bathrooms, kitchenette, workroom and storage. We have the floor plan. You can make it happen now.
