Letter from the President
Dear friends & family of Child Foundation,
As I am getting ready to fly to Geneva to attend the 28th session of the Human Rights Council, I would like to remind you that Nowruz is only a few short weeks away.
In this meeting, I am presenting a statement requestion all nations to focus more on education as the main tool to eradicate poverty, inequality, and even ignorance. Every dollar we spend today on education will save tens and perhaps hundreds of dollars on fighting deadly diseases, child mortality, and even saving the environment in the future.
I also hope to meet and find partners in other countries to expand our global activities. There are millions of children in need and we need every bit of help we can get.
As I mentioned, Nowruz is just a few weeks away...
Now I can hear my mother say "I love you"
Fatameh is one of Child Foundation’s sponsored children in Afghanistan who got an infection when she was only two years old. Her parents didn’t seek medical treatment for her since they couldn’t afford it, and as result, she lost her hearing. A few years later, her father died and now her mother is suffering from a kidney problem. Fatameh lives with her brother, sister, and mother in an old one-room rundown house which does not have any furniture, TV or refrigerator, only an old carpet and an old kerosene heater!
Fatameh is one of the top students in her class. There is no school for the deaf in Mazar-e-Sharif and she has to attend a regular school. Child Foundation decided to help her. She was taken to local doctors for tests and her medical files were sent to Tehran and Kabul to find out the best treatment. They all agreed an operation could not help her and suggested a cochlear implant in her ears.
This surgery was only available in Kabul...

The event consisted of reports by Mrs. Dadkhah, Iran's Child Foundation Director, Concert by local artists, a presentation of some of Child Foundation's sponsored children, and an auction that generated more than 54 million tooman. This celebration was attended by hundreds of Child Foundation supporters, volunteers, and many Iranian movie stars such as Fatemeh Motamed Aria, Parviz Parastoui, Poori Banai, Alireza Khamseh, and Ladan Tabatabai.
Don't forget my eidi!
If you want a child in need to enjoy your generosity for this Nowruz, we want you to be aware that it may take more than a week to deliver the funds. So please donate soon so the children will have their eidi in time for Nowruz. Thank you for your kindness and generosity! |
Hi, I'm Kheyronnisa!
Kheyronnisa is a sweet and smart ten year old student. Her mother works every day as a factory worker, leaving Kheyronnisa at home where she does her school work. Kheyronnisa hopes to continue her education and acheive her dream of becoming a doctor one day.
Please consider helping this young student so that she may continue to attend school.
See more children waiting for sponsorship.
