Child Foundation Newsletter
Changing the face of the future, one child at a time.
Dear friends of Child Foundation,
Spring and Nowruz are only a few weeks away. On this joyful and auspicious occasion of the Persian New Year, and on behalf of the entire team at Child Foundation, it is my honor to wish you and your family a very happy, healthy, and prosperous New Year.
I also want to let you know that if you wish to send your New Year's gift (eidi) to children in need, we still have time to collect your donations for timely delivery of your eidi. Your tax deductible eidi will provide clothing, food, educational material, or medicine for a child. Most importantly, like the spring the heralds a new year, it will help a child in need with a new beginning. So, please donate generously here.
Again, happy New Year and have a wonderful and safe Charshanbeh-soori!
Peyman Raoofi Psy.D.

Food Distribution for Nowruz
Child Foundation has started its food distribution in some remote villages of Chahar-Mahal-Bakhtiari and Yazd provinces. Throughout the last week, 1000 food packages were distributed to families who needed a little help to celebrate New Years with their families.

Child Foundation & Human
Dr. Raoofi, Child Foundation's President will participate in the 28th Session of Human Rights Council in Geneva to present CF's position about grave violations that are committed against children and youth in the war-affected countries of the world.
Child Foundation believes children are most vulnerable in areas where conflicts have raged over a long period of time. If children are born into and raised in a conflict zone, they are most likely to be desensitized to violence and thay are also less likely to have been exposed to opportunities, such as education or jobs. Read Child Foundation's position here.
CF Volunteers & Nowruz Event
Child Foundation volunteers met in our LA office to go over details of our Nowruz Bazaar. It will be a wonderful event for everyone to do some eid-didani as well as last minute shopping for Nowruz's ajil, samanoo, or many other special products and services offered by local businesses. Our "Angels of Peace" dance group is practicing, and even our haji-firooz is brushing up on his expertise to create a wonderful time for you. The bazaar will be held on Sunday, March 15 at 11:00AM.
If you wish to join Child Foundation's volunteer group for any events in the United States of other countries, all you have to do is complete our volunteer application.

Mrs. Mahsa Parvin sent a laptop to Mehdi. He was so excited to recieve his gift that he could barely contain himself. He wrote a letter to Mrs. Mahsa Parvin and thanked her for her generosity. CF was very happy to deliver both the gift and the letter.
CF in Concert & Expo!
Our volunteers participated in several concerts during the last few weeks. In Michigan, we had an information table at Rana Farhan's concert. She also donated half of her CD sales to Child Foundation. In Los Angeles, we also provided information about Child Foundation activities to participants of Siavash Qumeishi and Kooban concertsi. A big thanks to our volunteers for helping with these concerts, and also Parvin Javadi, Matin, Misagh Eshaghi, Mona Hoshyarnejad, Mr. Noori, and Dr. Aghazamani for providing us with these opportunities.

The mission of Child Foundation is to help children in need, who have been identified as high achievers to remain in school. We believe that education can move a child beyond the stigma of poverty and give that child the tools to reach his or her true and full potential. Since our inception in 1994, Child Foundation has provided basic necessities to children living in poverty or hardship, enhancing the quality of life for these children as well as their respective families. By providing access to education, Child Foundation hopes to eliminate children prematurely leaving school, and in certain cases, avoid early matrimony.
