Changing the face of the future, one child at a time.
|Where is my Backpack? It's Time to Go to School!
Summer is almost over and it's time once again to move into full gear for helping children in need to go back to school. Children are ready and eager to start, but many are still in need of basic school supplies. Unfortunately, a simple backpack is still a dream for many, but as usual, Child Foundation, with your help, will provide backpacks with school supplies to as many children as we can.
Six Month Reports are Done!
We invite you to participate in this worthy and timely cause, to contribute online by sponsoring as many backpacks as you can. Once again, our Scholastic Fund Drive will help young and needy school children with special "Educational Backpacks" containing books, notebooks, school supplies, and some clothes. Our goal is to finish this drive with your help and support at the earliest possible time so that these packages can be delivered well in time for the start of the school year.
We need your help to educate, inspire, and empower disadvantaged children to remain in school and create a brighter future for themselves. So, please donate as generously as you can.

We have mailed and emailed all chldren's progress reports to our sponsors. If you have been a sponsor of a child for a year or longer, and you did not receive their report, please let us know so that we can send you another copy.
We noticed that some of our reports have ended up in the junk folders of some of our donors' emails, so please check your junk folders first to ensure that you have not yet received them before contacting us.
From Texas to Bam with Love
Remember Rana and Nazanin? The two girls who, along with their mother, were victims of their father's savage acid attack? Unfortunately, their mother died in March of this year due to her severe wounds. Child Foundation and another local charity have been sponsoring all of the girls' educational and medical costs.
Recently, Brittney, one of our donors in Texas, along with a friend, sent two bags of gifts and crayons to these girls and made their day! Rana and Nazanin in return drew several pictures using the crayons that Brittney had sent them.
If you would also like to donate to Rana's medical account, please donate here.
Child Foundation in Iranian Festivals
This August, Child Foundation attened two major festivals in Portland, OR and Seattle, WA. Thousands of people typically attend these two events and Child Foundation used this opportunity to provide participants with information about our activities.
This year, at the Portland festival, we presented our annual scholarship to Rohan Hiatt. We also donated a grant of $3,000 to Momentum Alliance for their leadership program for local youths. Momentum Alliance prepares diverse young people from underrepresented communities in Clackamas, Multnomah, Washington, and Clark Counties to become effective community advocates, leaders, and decision makers.
Many thanks to Andishe Center and Iranian American Community Alliance for providing us with this opportunity.
Hi, I'm Atena!
Atena is an eleven year old girl from the city of Kermanshah. After her parents' divorce, her father disappeared and no longer supports Atena. Now, she and her mother live in their grandmother's house, but they do not even have any belongings of their own. Atena is a hardworking student and your support could change her future.
Please consider helping this young student so that she may continue to attend school.

A Remarkable Day for Farahnaz
This summer, Farahnaz, one of our new sponsors from Michigan, flew to Esfahan to meet Narges, her sponsored daughter. She met with Narges and her mother and they all discussed Narges' future educational goals. Farahnaz is from Tabriz, and during her trip she also managed to visit our Tabriz office and met with their director, Dr. Kafi.
Farahnaz said that she is very impressed with Child Foundation's teamwork and its high level of proficiency. She is planning to volunteer for CF in Michigan and share her personal experience with others.
Benyamin in Portland
On August 15th, Javanan Magazine presented Benyamin Live in concert at the Alladin Theater in Portland, OR for his first time touring the Pacific Northwest.
Child Foundation had an information table at this event. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table!

The mission of Child Foundation is to help children in need, who have been identified as high achievers to remain in school. We believe that education can move a child beyond the stigma of poverty and give that child the tools to reach his or her true and full potential. Since our inception in 1994, Child Foundation has provided basic necessities to children living in poverty or hardship, enhancing the quality of life for these children as well as their respective families. By providing access to education, Child Foundation hopes to eliminate children prematurely leaving school, and in certain cases, avoid early matrimony.
