Education on Our Mind on the International Day of Peace
Still Have Time to Help Children to Go to School
September 21st marks International Day of Peace that offers people globally a shared date to think about how, individually, they can contribute to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples. Sustainable peace requires sustainable development. Education is the key to uniting nations and bringing human beings closely together. It is important to recognize the crucial role of education in contributing to building a culture of peace and condemning instances in which education is undermined in order to attack democracy and tolerance.

I invite you to honor education during this day and help Child Foundation to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all.
It is very easy and surprisingly much economical than many believe. With about a dollar a day, you can change someone’s life for good. Please visit our waiting list to see who can benefit from your generosity to have access to education.
I also want to inform all of our sponsors that our colleagues are working hard to prepare and send you progressive report. So, during next few weeks check your e-mail and mail box for these bi-annual reports. We will be more than happy to hear from you about these reports.
Thank you and have a wonderful weekend.
President & CEO
School is starting shortly in most of the countries that Child Foundation is active. Our local social workers are busy preparing “Backpacks of Hope” to make sure children start their school year with enthusiasm and joviality as well as a nice backpack and fresh stationaries. They have already prepared more than 1,500 but more is needed.
Our “Backpack of Hope” contains notebooks, school supplies, and in some areas, clothes. Each backpack with its content costs about $75. For those who donate at least 10 Backpacks of Hope, we will send pictures and information of children who have benefited from their generosity. We invite all those who are willing to participate in this worthy and timely cause to contribute online.
It is so easy to put a smile on the face of a child when they are starting their school. One backpack helps a student in need to start school happy and as bonus, you get the karma knowing that you have made a difference.
Mazar office is Busy, Birthdays and Travel!
Our office in Mazar-e-Sharif surprised six of children we sponsored with a birthday party. For most of these children, this was their first birthday celebration party they have ever had. They were all provided with a new backpack, school supplies, some toys and of course a cake. We wish happy birthday to Roohafza, Rubanna, Shgofa, Gol-bashra, Mah-Jabin, Nasrin, and expect them to do really well in school this year.
Our Afghanistan office manager, Mrs. Karimi had taken four children who suffer from Thalassemia to Amol for a bone marrow transplant. It took them four long days of driving with a minibus to get there but hopefully this long trip ends up with some good news for all. We wish them the best!

Hi, I'm Zeinab!
I am seven-year-old girl from the city of Mazar-e-Sharif, Afghanistan in first grade. I am youngest of five kids. My father left us years ago and remarried in another city and we have not been heard from him since. My mother tries to provide for all of us by sewing but it is very hard.
We struggle to get by everyday and we desperately need of your help. Please help me to stay in school And have a better life and brighter future.
Please consider helping this young student so that he may continue to attend school.

The mission of Child Foundation is to help children in need, who have been identified as high achievers to remain in school. We believe that education can move a child beyond the stigma of poverty and give that child the tools to reach his or her true and full potential. Since our inception in 1994, Child Foundation has provided basic necessities to children living in poverty or hardship, enhancing the quality of life for these children as well as their respective families. By providing access to education, Child Foundation hopes to eliminate children prematurely leaving school, and in certain cases, avoid early matrimony.
