New Report on 2013 Northeast Groundfish Economic Performance

The findings, contained in NOAA’s final report on the season released Thursday, sketch a pessimistic and dire portrait of an entire fishery under siege from economic, regulatory and environmental pressures during the past four years


Proposed Rule; Request For Comments; Fisheries of the Northeastern United States; Standardized Bycatch Reporting Methodology Omnibus Amendment

NOAA Fisheries announced that it is proposing regulations to implement the Standardized Bycatch Reporting Methodology Omnibus Amendment developed by the Mid-Atlantic and New England Fishery Management Councils.




3.1.4 - This filing DECREASES the commercial possession limit for Black Sea Bass to 500 lbs/vsl/day beginning 12:01AM on Saturday, January 24, 2015.

Rhode Island's ASMFC Commissioners Meeting: Jan 29

A meeting of Rhode Island's ASMFC Commissioners will be held on Thursday, January 29 at 6 pm in the Hazard Room in the Coastal Institute Building at the URI Bay Campus in Narragansett. The purpose of the meeting is to review and discuss the agenda for the upcoming February 3-5 ASMFC meeting in Alexandria, VA.


ASMFC 2015 Winter Meeting Final Agenda and Meeting Materials: Feb 3-5

The final agenda and meeting materials for the Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission's 2015 Winter Meeting can be obtained at; click on the relevant Board/Committee name to access the documents for that Board/Committee. The agenda is subject to change. The agenda reflects the current estimate of time required for scheduled meetings. The Commission may adjust this agenda in accordance with the actual duration of meetings. Interested parties should anticipate meetings starting earlier or later than indicated herein.

RI Marine Fisheries Proposed Regulatory Amendments Workshop and Public Hearing: Feb 16

A workshop and public hearing regarding proposed amendments to the RI Marine Fisheries regulations is scheduled for Monday, February 16, 2015 in the University of Rhode Island, Graduate School of Oceanography, Corless Auditorium, South Ferry Road, Narragansett, RI 02882. The workshop will begin at 4:30PM, followed by the hearing at 7:00PM.
