Workshop Description: 

Integrative Play Therapy is a systematic integration of various play therapy theories and techniques used in assessment, case conceptualization, and treatment of children and adolescents.  Attendees will learn how to weave play therapy theories with intention and flexibility.

With Distinguished Presenter:

Kimberly Bartlett, LCSW, RPT-S is an international speaker on play therapy and Adjunct Faculty member at University of Phoenix. She also sits on the Board of Directors of The Australasia Pacific Play Therapy Association. Kimberly offers play therapy supervision with a focus on an Integrative Play Therapy approach.

Learning Outcomes

This workshop is designed to help you:

1.  Explore the pathways and purpose of an integrative play therapy framework.

2.  Analyze the characteristics and role of an integrative play therapist.

3.  Describe the two primary dimensions conceptualized in model from Play Therapy Dimensions Model: A Decision-Making Guide for Integrative Play Therapists.

4.  Explain how the child’s presentation drives the Integrative Play Therapy approach.

Instructional Level: Intermediate to Advanced


Audience Pre-Requisites:

It is recommended that the audience have command of two or more play therapy models.

Who Should Attend:

Marriage, Family & Child Therapists, Social Workers, School Counselors, Psychologists, Students, and Interns.

Continuing Education:

This workshop meets the qualifications for 6 hours of continuing education credit for MFTs and LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (Provider # PCE 1007). 

California Association for Play Therapy is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. California Association for Play Therapy maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
