BE KIND -- spread the word!

Send a message of kindness to everyone you can, including those you don’t know who may be behind you at a stop light or walking past your parked car.  BE KIND car magnets make it easy to remind everyone of the importance of being kind, even when it might be challenging or amidst differences. If you would like a BE KIND car magnet, they are available for a $5 donation to the Sisters of St. Joseph Mission and Ministries Foundation.  Click here to get yours.

erie gives day - august 8, 2017
We are grateful for any gifts we receive, at any time. And we're grateful for the opportunity our friends and donors have to extend their gifts through the generosity of the Erie Community Foundation. Gifts to the Sisters of St. Joseph of Northwestern Pennsylvania on Erie Gives Day, Tuesday, August 8, 2017 will be partially matched by the Erie Community Foundation and its Erie Gives partners.

Since Erie Gives began in 2011, the Sisters of St. Joseph and our ministries have received more than $266,000 through the campaign.

Erie Gives Day
August 8, 2017
8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST.

We hope you’ll continue to be a part of our story
and ministry by making a gift on Erie Gives Day.

Mark your calendar for Erie Gives Day on August 8. If you would like us to send you a personal email reminder on Erie Gives Day, let us know by responding to development@ssjerie.org.

If you can’t make a gift, say a prayer for your neighbor.
We’ll do the same for you.

welcome new ssj associates!
After a year of preparation, we welcomed five men and women as SSJ Associates during a special liturgy in our Community Living Center chapel on Sunday, July 30, 2017. While they have varied backgrounds and each brings his or her own special gifts and talents, they all share a commitment to live the charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph. They have expressed a desire to become closer to God through fellowship with the sisters, agrégées and associates. They are (pictured left -right): Stephen Branton, Tina Branton, Joan L. Fels and Marvin Ridgeway. Clarice Sidun is pictured below right. We welcome them and offer them our prayerful support.

new home for st. james haven
St. James Haven has a new and bigger house for homeless men in the Meadville, Pennsylvania area thanks to several generous donors. The new house can provide shelter for 12 men and 2 managers.  Deacon Todd Summers held a prayer service and blessed the Haven during an Open House on June 18th. Erie Bank provided refreshments for the occasion.  Click here to read more about the new St. James Haven in the summer issue of Journeys.
