July State of the Farm
We are in the beginning of Summer and we're quite busy over here keeping up with the wild growing weeds and demanding planting schedule. We just put in our last round of nightshades (tomatoes, peppers, eggplants) and continue to plant beans, squash, cucumbers and other crops every few weeks, so that we can have a continuing succession of crops. We've harvested the first of our potatoes and green beans, and our first tomatoes and peppers are about 1 week away from ripening! It's going to be a very productive Summer, and we are excited about bringing thousands of pounds of produce to our community this season.

Interview with Colleen
"The last couple weeks have been really awesome," Colleen Hotchkiss declares, referring to the opening weeks of the 2013 CSA program at Veggielution. Colleen is part of Veggielution’s Farm Crew and is responsible for running both the CSA program, the Saturday Farm Stand, and our booth at the San Pedro Square farmers’ market on Fridays. Colleen started at Veggielution in 2012 as a Farm Crew member, one of the positions offered through the Silicon Valley HealthCorps...

Welcome, New Board Members and Summer Interns!
We are pleased to introduce the new members of our Advisory Board, JD Stager and Brian Spitz! JD is the owner of Stager Construction, and Brian is the owner of Spitz Design and Machine. We're so glad they are joining us!
We'd also like to welcome our new bookkeeper, Elif Soyarslan, and our "summer crop" of interns! We are lucky to have 17 interns helping us around the farm this summer.
A big THANK YOU to our donors!
Thanks to all of our generous donors, not only did we meet our fundraising goal of 15K, but we exceeded it significantly! With your help, we were able to buy the tractor you see here! We'd like to give a shout-out to everyone that helped make this possible...
