Umaji is presently Dean & Head at the Faculty of Music & Fine Arts, Delhi University. India.
In tonight's presentation, Umaji
will be accompanied by Ustad Kadar Khan and Musicians of Kalavant Center, New York.

Umaji
began learning from her mother, the Late Smt. Asha Lata Das. She studied under India's greatest Gurus the late Sri S.D. Apte, Dr. P.P. Johri and Ustad Hafeez Ahmed Khan.
She continues ceaseless striving towards perfection under the guidance of Pandit. Mani Prasad and Pandit. Bhimsen Joshi of the Kirana Gharana


Umaji  has performed extensively worldwide and is a distinguished scholar who's published numerous articles, research papers and books. She gives Lecture-Demonstrations and Seminars throughout India and the world
