Senior Specials and Career Sessions

As part of the senior curriculum, two sessions per week are spent learning about a variety of careers and special interests. This year, they’ve heard presentations by an attorney, a nutritionist, a business manager, and a social worker. The special interests presentations have included a broad spectrum from personality inventory to tae kwondo.

In the weeks to come, the seniors will be learning about other careers including nursing, speech pathology, college level instruction, and business and information management as well as sampling the special interests of cake decorating and woodworking.

The seniors have expressed an interest in learning more about photography, gymnastics and yoga. If you’d like to present, please contact Ms. Gehring at 352-6789 ext. 2, and we’ll be happy to schedule you for a session (either Monday or Thursday at 4:00) later in the school year.

Mishmeres Convention

This past Shabbos, we atteneded the Mishmeres convention in Monsey, NY. There were 130 Mishmeres leaders from 43 schools gathered together for a Shabbos of inspiration and chizuk. It was an amazing experience and we participated in a variety of activities and heard speeches from very respected people, including Mr. Michael Rothschild, founder of the Chafetz Chaim Heritage Foundation, and Rebbetzin Wertzberger, founder of the women's program, Mishmeres Hashalom in Eretz Yisroel. We had a great time spending an inspirational Shabbos with girls from different communities who are all working together for the same purpose, Shmiras Halashon. We heard many great ideas and insights that we hope to implement in our own program over the next few months. Thank you for the wonderful opportunity!

Bnos Agudath Israel Convention

This weekend, six Bnos leaders from TAM, along with our branch leader, went to the Bnos convention in Detroit. There were 300 Bnos leaders from 39 cities across the United States and Canada. We heard inspirational speeches, met girls from many other places, and had a great time. We returned home, inspired to be positive role models and Bnos leaders. We are so happy that we had the chance to go!
