Meyer Contracting has been a supporter of ours for 18 years. From the entire Rebuilding Together Dutchess County team we thank them! We, and our neighbors in need, are extremely grateful for their continued support - both financially and through dedicated volunteerism.

“I love giving back to my community and have truly enjoyed my participation through the years as house captain, chair of the selection committee and as a board member. Most rewarding was getting my employees and friends involved in making homes in Dutchess County warm, safe and dry.” - Chris Meyer

Meyer Contracting Corporation's mission is to build exceptional environments and buildings that enhance our community. Meyer has worked with municipalities, schools, businesses and private individuals on public, private, historic and renovation building projects throughout the Mid-Hudson Valley for over thirty years. Their longstanding support will enable us to continue our mission of providing safe and healthy homes in 2019.

Thank You M&T!

Please help us thank the M&T Charitable Foundation for awarding Rebuilding Together Dutchess County a $2,500 grant for our Home Safety and Fire Prevention program! In addition to the over 10 year history of supporting RTDC programs financially, we were grateful to have an M&T Bank volunteer team the past two years and are excited to work with them again for the program in 2019. Here at Rebuilding Together, we and the homeowners we serve through the Home Safety and Fire Prevention program, are ever appreciative for their continued partnership and commitment to helping Dutchess County homeowners.

Faces of Our Mission:
Meet Mary

Mary-FRD 2018

“When they told me I was qualified, I just sat down and cried,” Mary said as she watched Rebuilding Together volunteers complete repairs throughout the home.

Thanks to Rebuilding Together Dutchess County's volunteer team we were able to assist Mary. She was in need of major repairs and accessibility modifications, including: a new exterior walkway, grab bars for the bathroom and bathtub, handrails in the master bedroom and at the basement stairs, and siding repairs. These critical repairs will allow Mary to safely and comfortably remain in her home.

You can read more of her story or watch her experience.

Community Revitalization Collaboration:
Celebrating the Art and Culture of Poughkeepsie’s Youth

As the new year and frigid weather settle in, community organization around Poughkeepsie’s youth offers an encouraging ray of creativity and conviviality. Find solace from the wintry chill inside and together at these upcoming events celebrating the art and culture of young people in Poughkeepsie:

Teen Visions, hosted by The Art Effect, is on display at the Poughkeepsie Trolley Barn from January 4th to January 18th, Tuesday to Friday from 11:30 am – 4:00 pm. An exhibition of more than 35 young artists and 70 works of mixed-media art, Teen Visions presents a specially selected glimpse of the over 1,500 works created by its summer Art Institute students. Simultaneously a wonderful opportunity to experience the newly-renovated Poughkeepsie Trolley Barn for its first exhibit, Teen Visions is free and open to the public.

Capping the two week exhibition, the Art Effect’s Art After Hours closing reception will be held on January 18th from 5:30 – 7:30 pm, “during which artists will be honored in a family-friendly, happy hour-style event.” Join them for their signature fundraising event featuring “unlimited tastings from local craft breweries and amazing food vendors as well as live music.” This event is open to the public with tickets for purchase here

Community Matters 2, in partnership with Blueprint Consulting, present “That’s So Pough!: A Celebration of Poughkeepsie Youth Culture” to be hosted on February 16th at 2 pm in the Poughkeepsie High School Auditorium. Join them for a day celebrating local youth-inspired art and trends, with an opening student-led red carpet, art exhibition, live performances, and guest speakers. Celebrating the past and present, and looking to the future, the event aims to “engage the students and celebrate the unique culture of the city, and the ways they contribute to the future of the city of Poughkeepsie.” For more information, or to support the event, be sure to check out Community Matters 2’s Facebook page.
