Membership Drive: March 13th - 23rd
Members matter!

New Program: Smiley & West
Fridays at 3:30pm

Dr. Cornel West - Princeton University professor and one of the country’s leading democratic intellectuals - joins forces with longtime public broadcaster, author and advocate Tavis Smiley for an energetic hour of provocative dialogues. KGNU is excited to bring you this program every Friday at 3:30 pm.

Robert McChesney: Robert McChesney joins us live on the Morning Magazine to discuss his latest book "Digital Disconnect, How Capitalism is Turning the Internet Against Democracy". McChesney is among the most widely read and honored communication scholars in the world today. In his new book he argues that the internet has become arguably the greatest generator of economic monopoly in history, with troubling implications for both the economy and political democracy.

Bruce Springsteen: From Asbury Park to Thunder Road, we'll explore the early years of Springsteen with rare audio treasures. Twist & Shout's very own Paul Epstein guides us through the vaults.

Al Gore: We'll hear from former Vice President Al Gore speaking about his new book "The Future: Six Drivers of Global Change" in which he says that American democracy has been hacked by corporate lobbies and other special interests that control political campaign finances.

Dave Zirin: Dave Zirin joins us to discuss the increasing politicization of our professional athletes, from the Phoenix Suns’ protest against Arizona’s anti-immigrant initiatives to the Miami Heat’s show of solidarity with Trayvon Martin.

Grateful Dead Marathon: KGNU's semiannual celebration of the Grateful Dead continues. This time out, the exploration surfaces rare classics of songs covered live by the legendary band. Handcrafted CDs of the special will be available on March 23rd, with an early bird special during the Grateful Dead Hour on March 16th.
