Dear NCWCA Member:

We had a glitch in transferring our News & Notes service from Constant Contact to Vertical Response, which is FREE to non-profit organizations, and making our November 1 deadline for publication of our E-newsletter.  Please note that through this service, we can not upload PDF files.  We need your web address, blog address or an address for your information stored in the "cloud".  Also, if you want your images shown in the E-newsletter, please send web-ready images (72 dpi, 600 pixels in any direction).

The bountiful harvest of our efforts these past few months is upon us!

Many thanks to Priscilla Otani - your WCA President Elect - and her TEAM who have made it possible for the first time in NCWCA history for members to register on-line and see their artwork in the new artist gallery.

Thank you Priscilla for loading the nifty slideshow of pictures taken at the last ArtTag "Censorship" at Salma Arastu's studio in Berkeley.  Please mail in your new artwork for ArtTag, "Patterns", by November 7.

We need volunteers to help turn the WCA-sponsored national juried show, "Man As Object - Reversing the Gaze" into a huge success on November 4.   Catch up with one of your candidates for WCA President, Brenda Oelbaum, at the show!

Your artwork for the Little Red Journal Project is due November 15.

Remember to look for the ballot in your Artlines newsletter and vote for your National WCA President after Priscilla Otani leaves her National President's office in 2014.

We wish Irma Velasquez and her family our best as she steps down as Board Secretary for personal reasons.  We extend our many thanks for her diligent service and professionalism to NCWCA.

Thank you,

Elise Cheval

Remember to Vote for 2014 National WCA President!

vote2011 2

We have two great candidates for National WCA President: Susan King and Brenda Oelbaum. One of them will become National WCA President after Priscilla Otani leaves her National President's office in 2014. Candidate information and ballot was inserted in your Artlines newsletter. Please cast your vote - it's going to be a tight race between two very different candidates. Note: you can only vote by sending the postcard-sized ballot inserted in your newsletter.  MEET WCA President Candidate Brenda Oelbaum at the "Man As Object - Reversing the Gaze" show!

Reminder – Make Tiny Art for Little Red Journal!

Don’t forget to mail your 4”Hx3”Wx0.25”D piece to art to Priscilla Otani, PO Box 31112, SF, CA. Deadline is Nov. 15! Claudia Chapline was the first artist to submit her lovely piece. It’s fabulous!

Effective January 1, 2011, our Board Secretary, Irma Velasquez, is stepping down from her position due to personal family reasons. She has been instrumental in helping us organize our records and documenting our board meeting proceedings. Irma remains an NCWCA member. We are seeking an individual who has strong administrative and operational skills. Knowledge of 501(c)3 regulations is a plus, but at a minimum, the individual must be willing to learn about how these regulations affect NCWCA. Irma will make herself available for training and consultation. Click here for a complete job description.
As a Board member and Officer, you are responsible for overseeing the strategic direction of the chapter, developing and managing programs and events that benefit the membership, community outreach, fundraising, and representing the chapter’s interests at the regional and national WCA levels.
