On January 17th we arrived in Peru to begin our third term of service. Our return trip, although uneventful, took nearly 20 hours! In our first days we began the monumental task of re-establishing residency in Peru . There were bags to unpack, documents to renew, and contacts to be made. It's likely we'll be working on paperwork for several months. We have had several frustrating days but we've been so blessed to be back with our church people. We can truly say, "It's good to be home!"The greatest joy so far has been seeing the growth among our church people. Our church, while still small, has taken some huge steps in spiritual areas. The people have taken on so many responsibilities and are happy to be serving the Lord with their lives. Several of our young men are now leading music and directing the services. Others are helping with Bible studies and preparing for an upcoming baptismal service. We look forward to seeing how God continues to grow the work in the days ahead.

Prayers Answered for Pastor Daniel
We are grateful that many of you have faithfully been praying for Pastor Daniel. After many months of waiting Daniel finally had surgery on January 18th. The surgery, which lasted more than four hours, was successful. More than 90 percent of the tumor was removed from the base of his brain. Daniel was home within four days and even came to church the very next Sunday. Doctors are hopeful that the tumor will no longer grow. Pastor Daniel was especially touched to hear that so many people were praying for him. He sends his greetings and appreciation to all of you.
Olivia Health Update
Olivia continues to do very well with her medical treatments. She has now gone more than 12 weeks without a seizure! She has also had none of the potential side-effects from the medications. We were especially happy to find that her prescriptions are readily available here and were delivered to our home immediately upon our arrival. (Although she doesn't enjoy the taste of the Peruvian version!) Even after the exhausting travel day to Peru she remained healthy and seizure free.
While we may not understand God's timing for allowing Olivia's health crisis we rejoice that He brought us all through it and has used it to teach us to depend more on Him! Thank you for your continued prayers for our little Olivia!

Peruvian Time
Peruvians, like most Latin Americans, have a different sense of time. If church is scheduled to start at 5:00 p.m. it will likely start by 5:45. If a delivery is scheduled for "first thing tomorrow morning" it will likely come around dinner time the following day! Peruvians call this lack of timeliness "La Hora Peruana." Simply translated, "The Peruvian Hour." Since returning to Peru we've had to readjust to the time change. Even though we are still in Eastern Standard Time we have to live in a far different hour! Phone and internet installers came several days later than scheduled. Our water delivery also a day or two late. Even our suitcase that was lost on the way down showed up 24 hours later than "guaranteed." We''ve learned to just relax and plan accordingly. Perhaps the time difference is why Peruvians seem to handle stress so well. Maybe its why our prayer letter is late this month!
We are now back online and easy to contact!
