Greetings Monticello UMC, I wanted to take a moment to thank all those that were on hand for the celebration of life service this morning. UMW provided an awesome lunch for everyone. Ted worked very hard at setting up both the hall and the parking lots. Sheryl does a great job as coordinator of caring ministries. And, our certified lay minister, Rodney, was wonderful in his leadership of the service. My plate (as well as all the plates) were cleaned off by Jim who also helped copy additional bulletins. And, even Gladys was wonderful and came in to help answer phones while everyone was tied up. But, the list goes on...Deb, Doris, and Steve provided great music for the service that brought a smile to each person as they heard the Beatles in a sanctuary! Thanks for your musical leadership. Plus, our preschool staff (Gayla, Kendra, and all the teachers) were so wonderfully supportive of everyone. Then, we need to be sure and thank our preschool parents who adjusted their schedules so our teachers could all attend the service. Steve Likes jumped in at the last minute to run sound too. I know that's a long list. But, in our haste to do incredible ministry, I want to be sure we take a moment to offer a heartfelt thank you to all that served. It was an amazing time of preschool staff and families coming together with MUMC families and staff to reach out. You were truly the hands and feet of Christ for all our guests this morning and I know they saw God's love in you. As your pastor, I was so proud of this church family this morning. Job well done!!! Let's keep the Griffin family in our hearts and prayers as they continue this grief process. Check in with them and remind them you continue to pray for them. Our last count was 208 people in attendance to support the Griffin family today...and yes, they all fit in the sanctuary (but barely). That's a houseful and we greatly appreciate all of you that made it happen. May we all offer God the glory for the work God does through YOU, the people of Monticello UMC. Thanks and many blessings! Pastor Rob PS: Be sure to join us this weekend as we transition to a whole new sermon series called "Talkin' Back." See you in church!
