Monticello United Methodist Church
Emergency Prayer Request

Dear Monticello UMC,

Church LogoPlease join our caring ministries team, our staff, and I as your pastor in expressing our sympathy to a family in our congregation.

We offer our sympathy and support to Teri Griffin, one of our church members as well as a staff member.  Teri serves as our assistant director of our preschool.  Teri's husband, Steven Griffin (49), passed away suddenly on the evening of January 25, 2012.  As her church family, we offer Teri our love and support, as well as to her children, Kelly (24) and Courtney (19).

The family is being cared for by the pastoral staff, the preschool staff, and their other family as well.  But, we wanted to ask you to be in prayer for one of our staff who is walking through a difficult time today.

At this time, we know the visitation, celebration of life service, and reception will be held at Monticello United Methodist Church sometime during the day on Monday, but the times are still to be determined.  We will forward details to you when they become available.  It is our hope many of our Monticello UMC families can attend this service, whether you know Teri or not, to show our church's support to this family.

May God bless you for taking a moment to pray today for Teri, Kelly, and Courtney.  And, may we all give thanks and celebrate the life of Steven L. Griffin.  May God offer us peace and comfort to all.

Blessings,
Pastor Rob

Prayer Request Policy
It is our policy at Monticello United Methodist Church to include non-emergency prayer requests in the pastor's weekly E-Note and the bulletin.  However, emergency prayer requests (hospitalization, accident, death, etc.) will be disseminated as they come into the office.  To protect the privacy and confidentiality of our parishioners, we will only share prayer requests with the prayer chain if they are provided with the permission of the person involved and come directly from a family member.  While our pastor and congregational care ministers will personally pray for anonymous requests, third party requests, prayer requests for friends, neighbors, etc., we will be unable to publish them in order to preserve confidentiality in pastoral care.
